Kimono, the no-gender garment that has spanned history

The kimono is a symbol of Japanese identity, but it is an item of clothing
that has flowed fluidly through the centuries from samurai schools to the
catwalks of the greatest designers. It is a leader that transcends time, cultures and
especially transcends gender: in fact, in Japan at the beginning of the Edo era (1603-
1868), the Kimono was the traditional dress, worn indistinctly of the Japanese
regardless of their social status and especially their gender (it was
then worn albeit with variations in prints and colors indiscriminately by
    men and women).

The kimono will be known in Europe very late (in the late 1600s but only by the
upper strata of the population). It will then become the object capable of making people dream and
inspire entire generations only in 1867 at the opening of the Japanese pavilion
Paris World’s Fair. From then on kimonos and fans
enter the collective imagination of Europeans and Americans who are
“feed” on the exoticness of these objects to travel with the mind and get out
from the rigid patterns that Western fashion and culture imposed on them in that
    time.

Said-so decided to start here. We have tamed the millennial wave.
of Far Eastern fashion and voila! the garment became a cool pool of
a western villa. We revisited with proportion and taste
Western a stiff, ceremonial garment like the kimono to make it a
    passepartout and more relaxed garment.
Today, as even materials no longer uniquely connote the
intended use of a garment, we substituted silk or other shiny fabrics and
precious with a very soft sweatshirt fabric(because today the sweatshirt is worn in the office
and cashmere is for leisurewear). We finally opted for a black colorblock
with patches on their backs like true emperors of the city, and here was born our
iconic kimono sweatshirt said-so. Click here to view our Genderless street kimono in plush.

The kimono is today’s trendiest outerwear and being
incredibly cross, genderless and four season you can wear it for
to amaze even in summer–have you seen how the beach kimonos are going crazy.
