Said-so was born about a year ago following several attempted online purchases on “scam” sites gone wrong. In what sense will you ask?
You know those great pictures at the beach with beautiful men and women wearing crazy clothes etc. Here. We, (my partner and I) bought them all and the result was always the same. The garment you receive never, ever matches what you see in the picture! Size, pattern, color and material, all completely different. We then tried to return them = requesting an audience with the pope is infinitely easier… The only thing that remains more difficult is to talk to Meta’s support team!!! It seems that the remake of the Labors of Hercules sees this very one in the hero’s version 3.0 as the last test.
Hence the Idea.
We did it! We looked at each other and said, “Let’s see if it is true that out of difficulties we can benefit.” We took our “wrong” samples but not like the negroni, got a pattern maker involved, a seamstress, and began to create a design with a garment–and hopefully a tail. We combined some of our beliefs in terms of fashion and started shooting, creating and fantasizing.
Our sale items:
– What you see is what you will get
– Why can women wear men’s clothes and not vice versa?
– Men’s fashion is boring–let’s create something fluid but “wearable” without runway-only creations!
– Let us be inspired by the things we like. And what do we like-and what does everyone like?
Freedom. The freedom to be who we are without barriers of any kind. The freedom to be able to express ourselves in our work independently
We sat around a table and planned, each according to our expertise a piece of branding.
What we were inspired by:
the first thought went to the world of festivals, Boho-Chic and Streetwear. To nomadic thinking. To comfort without sacrificing style in any way. We can feel at the seaside even though we are in Milan. We can think about planning our next trip to Coachella as we walk down c.so Buenos Aires dressed in bangs even though we are lawyers and/or accountants and are required to be rigorous at least in the office.
Said-so is also inspired by inclusiveness. We adopted the hashtag #inclusiveisexclusive because we strongly believe that there are not necessarily predefined genres of clothing. We see everything or almost everything–genderless. And if others like us take that almost out of the whole … it’s even better for us! As a man when I go shopping with my girlfriends “I am their favorite personal shopper” I love everything they buy. Women’s fashion is immense, diverse, colorful and made up of varied cuts and patterns. Men can count on t-shirts and polo shirts and a few models of pants–and that’s in 2020, 2021, 2022 etc. etc. We are not there.
Let’s try to reinvent a little!
